Aetherya
Under the Hood

CORE TECHNOLOGIES

Aetherya is built on a custom technology stack designed from the ground up to solve the hardest problem in simulation: authentic human behavior. This is not a wrapper around existing AI tools. This is a proprietary cognitive simulation framework.

Aetheris Intelligence

Aetheris is the proprietary cognitive stack that powers every simulation in Aetherya. It combines deep business logic with sophisticated psychological modeling to create AI that doesn't just generate text—it simulates human thought.

Traditional AI models are trained on internet-scale data to predict the next word. Aetheris is fine-tuned specifically for cognitive simulation. This means:

  • Industry expertise: The model understands business contexts, marketing frameworks, and product strategy—not just general knowledge
  • Psychology alignment: Training data includes behavioral psychology research, cognitive bias patterns, and decision-making frameworks
  • Narrative reasoning: The model doesn't just answer questions—it constructs coherent narratives about user experiences
  • Domain specificity: Specialized modules for UX evaluation, ad performance prediction, and SEO optimization

This specialization is why Aetherya simulations feel more grounded than generic AI tools—the model is trained to think like a user researcher, not a chatbot.

Cortex Reasoning Engine

Cortex is the decision-making heart of every simulation. It's responsible for the logical flow of persona behavior—understanding instructions, maintaining context, and executing multi-step strategies.

What makes Cortex different from standard language models:

  • Persistent context: Cortex maintains state across an entire user journey, remembering what happened 10 pages ago and how it influences current decisions
  • Goal-oriented planning: Every action is evaluated against the persona's defined objectives. Cortex doesn't just react—it strategizes
  • Multi-modal processing: Cortex processes visual information (page layouts, design elements) alongside text, creating a holistic understanding of the interface
  • Adaptive reasoning: When unexpected situations arise (broken links, unclear messaging), Cortex adjusts its strategy rather than failing

In practice, this means personas can navigate complex, multi-page flows with the same strategic coherence as a real user. They don't just click randomly—they pursue goals.

THYMOS Cognition Model

THYMOS is Aetherya's proprietary cognition model. It carries the internal state a person actually decides from—appraisal, affective state, cognitive load, and confidence—forward across a session, so what a persona has already encountered shapes what it does next.

Most synthetic-audience tools model behavior directly: they pattern-match an output and, where the output looks too clean, add randomness on top. THYMOS models the state that produces the behavior instead. The hesitation, the re-read, the abandonment are consequences of that state, not noise sprinkled over a clean path. It tracks several dimensions:

  • Emotional states: Frustration, delight, impatience, and curiosity dynamically influence interaction patterns
  • Attention spans: Personas can lose focus, especially in long or repetitive flows, leading to skipped content and errors
  • Friction reactions: Cumulative friction (slow load times, confusing UI, unclear messaging) increases abandonment probability
  • Comprehension: Reading is partial and effortful—personas skim, misread, and carry an imperfect model of the page forward

Because state persists and compounds, two personas in the same segment can reach the same screen and decide differently—not from a dice roll, but because they arrived carrying different loads. This is also what makes the output testable: state is a mechanism, and mechanisms make predictions you can check against real behavior.

Quintessence Automation Framework

Quintessence is Aetherya's proprietary browser automation framework. It's what allows personas to experience web interfaces exactly as a human would—not just read HTML, but see, navigate, and interact.

Unlike standard automation tools (Selenium, Playwright), Quintessence is designed specifically for cognitive simulation:

  • Visual navigation: Personas "see" the page through computer vision, processing visual hierarchy and design elements
  • Interaction logic: Mouse movements, scrolling, and clicks are modulated by THYMOS to feel human—not robotic
  • Experience simulation: Quintessence captures page load times, animation delays, and other temporal factors that influence user perception
  • Natural motion: Cursor paths, scroll speeds, and interaction timing follow realistic patterns, not perfect straight lines

This is critical for accurate simulation. A persona can't evaluate a checkout flow if it's just reading the HTML source. It needs to experience the flow—the loading states, the visual feedback, the friction of multi-step forms—just like a real user.

The Aetherya Philosophy

Traditional simulation tools rely on static data and rigid decision trees. You define a user flow, and the tool follows it perfectly. This tells you nothing about real user behavior.

Aetherya breaks this paradigm by using dynamic, generative engines that adapt to context. We don't just predict what a user might do—we simulate why they would do it.

Every interaction in Aetherya—from a persona landing on your homepage to them completing a purchase—is a fresh calculation of intent, emotion, and logic. The persona evaluates the interface, weighs options, experiences friction, and makes decisions based on its defined psychology.

This means every audit, every campaign test, every conversation provides unique, high-fidelity insights. You're not getting canned responses. You're getting behavioral data that mirrors real user testing—but at scale, instantly, and without the cost of recruiting participants.

That's the Aetherya difference: we don't simulate clicks. We simulate cognition.
